Non Sollicité

The day after the worst day of my life I wrote:

“Ok, I broke. I get it. Now give me the tools to enable me to live like this. I know I don’t have to fill the holes, I just need to know how to go forward. Because I see now… no matter where you think bottom is, it’s further down. And whenever you think you’ve had enough, you can always be handed more. If I am the vessel holding the fruits of my life, then rather than try to glue myself back together and look chipped, teach me to smash the rest of me and become a mosaic… I will never be the same, but that doesn’t mean I won’t still be beautiful. And, maybe as a platter, I can serve more.”
